The African forest policies and Politics (AFORPOLIS) organisation, TROPENBOS International (TBI) and TROPENBOS Ghana (TBG) are organising the second social sciences conference on “African forest-related policies and politics” (AFORPOLIS conference 2020). This conference is organised in collaboration with the University of Göttingen in Germany and the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO). The conference will take place in Accra, Ghana from the 14th to 17th September 2020. The aim of the international AFORPOLIS conference 2020 is to address societal issues and dilemmas encountered in forest-related policies and politics in Africa. To do that, the conference brings together scientists and practitioners around the world, across the full range of social sciences disciplines and professions related to forest and land-use governance issues in Africa. The major themes of the upcoming AFORPOLIS conference 2020 in Accra include: (i) public goods, biodiversity and climate policy; (ii) governance, deforestation and sustainability; (iii) community rights, forest and land tenures; (iv) development, resources and landscape approaches.
